Hi Gary et al.,

I have watched some gulls purposely sliding over the ice and enjoying the slide
to do it over and over again and some are afraid of sliding over the ice.
I also have videos of Sandhill cranes sliding cautiously over the ice, testing
every step to make sure they don't slide too far. If they slid a little longer
distance they were terrified.

Today I walked to work and lots of birds were singing.
Carolina wren, Tufted Titmice, Cardinals, BC Chickadees, White-throated
Sparrow, House Finches, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Downy woodpecker and Blue Jay!
I also heard some American tree Sparrows and saw a roosting Red-tailed Hawk in
my neighbor's yard. And a Mockingbird was perched atop a tree in its usual
location at horse barn on Route 366.

Cheers
Meena

Hi all,

                http://www.wimp.com/crowtobogganing/

My friend Dave Roman alerted me to the fact that crow sledding
is a popular winter activity in some parts of the world. It made me wonder if
Kevin McGowan had witnessed similar winter sports action in North America. ;)
