Anyone seen this before? Yesterday a female Red-bellied Woodpecker was eating from the nest hole of two Downy Woodpeckers while they dove on her and yelled for all they were worth. Sheesh, the brutality of Spring isn't for weak human eyes.
On the bright side, my West Hill yard/property has yielded over fifty species so far today! Highlights were parulas, Bobolinks, and Swainson's Thrush.
