After listening to Yoav and his partners from Israel yesterday (lunch seminar
at the Lab of O) tell about their exciting morning with Chris Wood on Hammond
Hill, I decided to go up there today to hear the MOURNING WARBLER for myself.

The yellow trail east from the HH Rd parking lot was active. Chestnut-sided
Warblers began the chorus, then gave over to Black-throated Blues and
Ovenbirds. The number of Blackburnians increased as I went higher. Finally, in
the area with a lot of blow-downs, two Magnolia Warblers appeared. After a
couple of minutes a single MOURNING WARBLER began to sing a short version of
its song from the back of the opening.
