Thanks to Geo's "heads up", I spent a delightful morning along the FLLT in Cayuta Gulf. First of all, the geology is fascinating - the way the Little Lake (Cayuta Lake) outlet has cut through between Oak & Connecticut Hills. This morning the trail was lush and sun-dappled. And the birds were still singing! Several Acadian Flycatchers, two pairs of Louisiana Waterthrushes, a Canada Warbler, multiple Veerys, Scarlet Tanagers, Juncoes, Least Flycatchers, Yellow-throated Vireos, and even a family of newly-minted Wood Ducks. Best of all, no mosquitoes.
