Enjoying coffee at my beach, I just saw a juvenile male Mallard beating up a
big Crayfish to soften its scales.
Duck repeatedly tried to swallow it with no success, then chomped it several
times again with its bill before trying to swallow it again.
After about 5 minutes of this action , it finally swallowed the Crayfish, but
it didn't look easy. I think its interested siblings approaching to grab the C.
fish may have hurried its consumption by the male duck.
