Daughter Becky & I saw it last evening for 1/2 hr. until it was too dark to see more. Diana Whiting
& I had been there before noon & watched it. Diana took lots of pix. When Becky got off work
at 5 p.m. I took her back to Myers & she was delighted to see it. Perhaps we were the last to see it.
Coming home I swerved to miss a screech owl sitting in the road at Levanna. I stopped so Becky
could get it off the road before someone came along & ran over it. It was under a pole light, maybe
getting insects. Tiny as it looked, when it flew we were amazed at the size of the wings.
On our way to Myers we saw an adult bald eagle next to the nest tree along the lake shore at Great
Gully Farm south of Union Springs. All-in-all, we felt we had a very successful trip.The lake was like
glass & we saw a bright "sun dog". The eventual sunset was beautiful with reflections on the water.
Gas was $3.19.9 in Auburn on Mon.. Native Am. squabble continues to keep gas station closed here.
