Hi all,
This morning a received an email from the homeowner hosting the crossbill
in Enfield. She asked me to relay to the list that, while she is very much
in favor of bird enthusiasm (and did not call the sheriff on Gary), she
feels very uncomfortable having people park near her house and look into
her windows with binoculars, which is hard to avoid given the placement of
the feeder in question. It's a difficult situation and we can't tell anyone
not to drive on a public road, but please, if you are considering looking
for this bird, keep your distance and wait for the bird to appear in a more
neutral location, perhaps in the larch stand farther west on the road.
