All, Yesterday morning a Northern Shrike was reported along Rt. 96 just east of Ovid. It is getting extremely late for Northern, so the possibility of Loggerhead is distinct. The observer, Brian Tuttle, reports that while he is sure it was a shrike, he would not have been able to rule out Loggerhead. Here is a link to the list, the location of which Brian says should be fairly accurate: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S23005214 If anyone out that way is able to follow up on this report, I would be most curious to hear the results.
