?Hi all,

Today's lunchtime walk I saw a quite nice bunch of birds.

As I was just arriving at the back of the USDA building I heard a Winter Wren.
My first response was to look for my phone in my pocket as I have Winter Wren
as my one of the ringtones. Then realized that I have not brought the phone and
what I was hearing was a real WINTER WREN. I looked for this little bugger in
vain, but he sang for quite sometime. Then in the Mundy near the plantations
building there was a beautiful BALTIMORE ORIOLE doing 'feet feet your feet' and
was being answered by another one from across the Fall Creek. In its usual
place was the singing WARBLING VIREO. Then there was another BALTIMORE ORIOLE
in the center of Mundy in its usual location, who sang while I passed him
underneath. He peered my way when I passed him but continued singing. A couple
of YELLOW-RUMPED Warblers were heard and a YELLOW WARBLER seen in its usual
location. I heard only "Chinks" of ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK from sycamores but
did not see the bird. Grackles and Red-winged Blackbirds were hunting along
the Fall Creek for dragonfly nymphs and tenerals I guess. Then there were other
usual non-migrants too.

Also, saw a green tagged American Crow, but could not see its number.

Then there were Bloodroot, Trout Lily, Virginia Bluebells and Red Trillium in
bloom and also saw several Cabbage Whites.

Cheers

Meena
