Had a big surprise this morning when I discovered a beautiful SPOTTED
SANDPIPER in a small marshy area. First one I've seen up here ever.
Found 7 species of warblers - BLUE-WINGED, YELLOW, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT,
CHESTNUT SIDED, MAGNOLIA, BLACK & WHITE and OVENBIRD.
And the RUFFED GROUSE is still boom-booming near the skunk cabbage.
Notable was the lack of Ruby-Crowned Kinglets this time. And loads of
WHITE-THROATED sparrows both under my feeders and everywhere I walked.
No Ruby-throats yet. I've put the feeder out and am eagerly waiting.
