>From just outside the Basin: Feb 11 2016. For the second time since yesterday am, a White-crowned Sparrow was investigating and feeding a little at my feeder on Hile School Road, ~0.2 mi W of Ed Hill Road. As yesterday, it didn’t stay long. Today, I have watched off and on all day, and it first turned up at about 5pm.
I have some poor pics in dim light through the window, but I see nothing to indicate that it is other than an Eastern form. Pink bill vs Pink-orange bill?? Mainly it looked cold, with its head feathers fluffed like a “fur hat”. But maybe I am projecting.
