A quick run through rural Dryden this morning didn't turn up nearly as many
interesting birds as yesterday. I ascribe that to the difference in conditions:
yesterday the edges of the roads were clear, and birds were accessing the
gravely/dirt areas for food; this morning the roads were still a mess and the
edges were snow-covered. I did see some robins in a few cleared spots, and a
flock of 60 AMERICAN PIPITS were mixed in with robins at a manure line on
Purvis Road.

Dryden Lake had good numbers of Bufflehead and Common Merganser, a few
Ring-necked Ducks, Lesser Scaup, and American Wigeon, and a single sleeping
RED-NECKED GREBE.
