Not only have the several hummingbirds visiting my feeders been displacing each other frequently, but I just watched a hummingbird in a long, high chase of a goldfinch nowhere near a feeder. Not sure what the precipitating event or state was…but of course, staying in good condition must be extra important now, just before migration.
Anyone else familiar with interspecific aggression by hummingbirds?
