Keep forgetting to post.  Saw 7 Am. wigeon on Mill Pond on Thurs. 
morning, 29 Sept. 2016. First since spring.

Last I looked, the Mill pond sign put up by the scout still had the 
green heron listed as a pileated woodpecker.

I had seen wood ducks & babies on Factory pond numerous times through 
the summer. Man across the street said this was the_first yr. ever_, in 
his 40 yrs. living there, that he had seen woodies actually nest there 
... & successfully raise young without a snapper getting them. Two 
females ... one had 4 , the other 5.  Last I saw the young, they were 
almost adult size.
