Hi all,
Yesterday afternoon, several people reported on Ebird that they saw and heard
the following at the Durland Preserve in Ithaca, which is an eBird hotspot..
Check here for directions. https://ebird.org/hotspot/L446377
Reported were 2 calling evening grosbeaks, 2 house finches, 2 purple finches
and an amazing flock of 60 red crossbills! In addition, there has been a summer
tanager hanging out since yesterday, and still there today. This is apparently
a first for this area!
I hope people get a chance to see some of these amazing birds. Please be
mindful of the area when visiting and stay on the trails.
