This morning between 7:15 and 9:15 I counted 113 Loons migrating south over West Danby. All appeared to be following the line of the upper Cayuga Inlet Valley.
The Meade Period breakdown was: Period 3 - 8 Loons Period 4 - 7 Loons Period 5 - 1 Loon Period 6 - 10 Loons Period 7 - 61 Loons Period 8 - 6 Loons Period 9 - 20 Loons My count experience at the summit of Benjamin Hill last year, when every Loon seen was passing well to the east along the inlet valley, suggested that I should be able to count the same birds more easily from my own backyard, so that’s what I did this morning. -Geo -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
