Today’s breakfast treat: Papa Rose-breasted Grosbeak fed his baby sunflower seed on a branch right outside my screen porch, while Carolina Wren sang its piping, varied songs. Three B Orioles & a Catbird ate jelly and a juvenile Red-bellied Woodpecker and its Hairy & Downy cousins pecked suet! Of course, the large, raucous Blue Jay family is here, too, along with the sweet-singing Cardinal and some of the more silent usual suspects.
Ah — summer!
