Tonight after I was done with work, I walked the trails at the Audubon Center between 4:30 and 5 pm. To my extreme pleasure, I got to listen to two Great-horned Owls counter singing, and it was definitely 1 of each sex (higher pitch vs lower pitch hooting). Hard to believe as the days are shorter and colder and it hasn’t even snowed a good snow yet, that breeding season begins again :)
