Not much chatter this year about our Christmas Bird Count tomorrow.

As I read the regs (https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/28888.html), we are not
faced with a brand new opening of a duck-hunting season as we have experienced
in the last few years. But, the season has been open all through December and
ends on 2 January. A quick around-the-lake tour early this week found very few
waterfowl anywhere, except a large Canada Goose flock out in the middle of the
lake north of our area, as is usual for geese avoiding the hunting zones.

Let us hope for the big diver flock to remain at the south end of the lake,
but, honestly, I'm not hoping for a lot along the lake at the north end of the
circle.

Have a great day tomorrow!

Kevin
