Hi All. I don’t recall seeing this mentioned on the local listserves, so
I’m posting this in case some of you are interested and haven’t previously
heard of it. Looking at reports in eBird, a male Tufted Duck was found at
the north end of Seneca Lake in Geneva at the end of January. As of
yesterday afternoon it was offering very close views just north of Long
Pier by the Lakefront Hotel, hanging out close to shore among a group of
scaup and other ducks and coots. Definitely a nice-looking bird!
Apologies if this is 'old news'.
