Coming slowly up the campus driveway here in Union Springs just before 9 p.m. I
saw a small 'hawk' fly across the drive & land on the dirt road at the south
end of the girl's dorm. I stopped & watched until it was done bathing. It
rapidly flew away, straight back in the direction from which it had come ....
to the large oaks trees that have many dead limbs with nesting holes. It
appeared to be a kestral. In locating photos of dust-bathing kestrals I feel
quite certain it was.
