Yes, in the middle of the day in late September there is a Ruffed Grouse 
drumming in my woods! I understand about "autumnal recrudescence of the amatory 
urge" (*) but it's a first for my property plus it's nearly 1pm on warm summery 
day...I always associate them with the early morning, early spring.

(*) there's a story behind this, maybe a fun poem or something...I think Chris 
T-H will remember?

P.s he's just done his sixth drum roll as I write!
