Today on a Christmas walk with my adult children in the fields on the backside of Johnson Rd (Town of Phelps) and saw a dark phase rough-leg perched on a spray unit. It was being consistently dive-bombed by a short-eared owl and finally took off only to be pursued by an owl. The two birds became too far away for me to continue watching. Haven't seen a rough-leg out there in a number of years. Happy Holidays to all! Pete Sar
