A large-ish flock of robins ate all the haws on our two hawthorn trees this
morning in the Lansing Trails neighborhood. So glad to see that the fruit was
consumed by over-wintering birds. That was the plan when I planted these trees
last spring.

Two days ago there were so many Robins on East Ithaca Rec way I couldn't count
them, because they were flitting all over the place. I determined there were
between 80-100. Some were even singing! My theory is, they knew it would be a
light winter here, so why head South where there is snow!!

You may recall that at the 2025 Christmas Bird Count on New Years Day we had a
record count of Robins: over 3600 I think was the number!

I keep seeing small flocks of Robins here at Kendal. As well as flocks of
Brown-headed Cowbirds, along with Starlings.

I was just surprised by a flock of at least 18 robins in our front yard in
Brooktondale.
