Good morning! Over the last two weeks, it seems like everyday I I’ve been greeted by a louder and more diverse chorus of birds singing in the mornings.
This week singing Song Sparrows, White-throated Sparrows, Purple Finches, Cedar Waxwings, American Goldfinches and Brown-headed Cowbirds were added to the mix. The House Finches have been singing for several weeks but deserve a mention for how many there seem to be suddenly babbling away! Nocturnally, I’ve been off/on hearing a pair of Great Horned Owls counter singing to each other just after sunset, while there’s still ambient light. Also a single Eastern Screech Owl has been quietly trilling at a very low pitch in the middle of the night. -- (copy & paste any URL below, then modify any text "_DOT_" to a period ".")
