I started hearing peepers and another frog in my small pond 2 evenings ago.
Doubt if I'll hear them tonight! The wood frogs are now definitely out clucking and the peepers are definitely peeping in the nearby vernal pools. But it's only just begun. Along the way I managed to hear a peenting woodcock and vocalizing killdeer- kind of strange at that time of day - especially the killdeer.
