They’ll be laying eggs any time. My amphibian list for the year now includes: -Eastern newts -spotted salamanders, -green frogs (adults and tadpoles) -bull frog tadpoles -spring peepers -wood frogs On Mon, Mar 17, 2025 at 8:35 AM Deb Grantham <d...@cornell.edu<mailto:d...@cornell.edu>> wrote: I started hearing peepers and another frog in my small pond 2 evenings ago. The wood frogs are now definitely out clucking and the peepers are definitely peeping in the nearby vernal pools. But it's only just begun. Along the way I managed to hear a peenting woodcock and vocalizing killdeer- kind of strange at that time of day - especially the killdeer.
