I agree a field trip to this exhibit would be a wonderful outing.

This morning my husband and I were invited by a friend to view an exhibit of
bird art at Kendal Retirement Community, Ithaca. I was excited to find the
artist was Cayuga Bird Club member Tracy McLellan. The pieces are described as
"quilts" but they are so much more: exquisitely detailed bird images crafted in
colorful and iridescent thread painting, with quilted surroundings, slightly
three-dimensional, and based on photographs printed onto fabric. They were
stunningly beautiful. Also in the show were gorgeous quilted abstracts by Anne
Garretson.

I'm not sure how "open to the public" the show is, but if you have friends at
Kendal who could invite you this show is an absolute must-see. It will be up
for two months. Maybe a Cayuga Bird Club "field trip"?
