I saw the same thing in the air over the state police barracks on Route 13 this
morning. Three crows were mobbing a raven. I couldn’t watch for long, because I
was driving.

Subject: [cayugabirds-l] Raven and Crow interaction

I saw a really interesting interaction this morning while walking Dex. A raven
was being mobbed by about a half dozen crow. The raven was making what I can
only describe as a "help me" call. A sad, plaintive sound, almost a mewl.
Three more raven showed up and the crows decided it was a good time to move on.
The whole thing took maybe a minute or two. Guessing it was a youngster without
much confidence as yet.

This was at the intersection of Dubois and Krums Corners road in Ulysses, where
the raven have nested in the tall fir trees there in years past.

Very interesting.
