General Description: This role is having the following responsibilities of
Storage
(IBM, NetApp, ) Migration planning, Build and execution of migration plan.
Essential Skills:
* Hardware knowledge of IBM, NetApp, Brocade, EMC and other Storage
Hardware's.
* Evaluate clients Storage to develop technical strategies and
business cases for migrating current and futuristic business requirements.
* Analyze enterprise storage architecture to provide recommendations
around Data Tiering, Storage Cost optimization.
* Develop and deliver Storage Run books for Disaster Recovery,
Operational readiness.
* Plan and organize Storage consolidation and data migration
strategies for datacenters for cost optimization and business efficiency.
* Identify project level risks like people, tools, hardware issues,
dependencies and mitigate them quickly -100 % risks mitigated and no impact
on predictability targets due to misses.
* Plan, build and implement strategies to align storage environments
as per Industry
Leading practices like ITIL v-3. Champion the development and maintenance of
procedures for change management, availability management, backup
management, incident management, and process documentation in the storage
environment comprising
of SAN/NAS/CAS arrays.
* Must possess one or multiple of the mentioned certifications with at
least intermediate proficiency - ETF, ISM, SNIA, Product-specific
certifications from IBM, NetApp, Brocade.
* Demonstrable and proven skill-set on multiple storage from various
vendors IBM, NetApp, EMC & Brocade.
* Analyze performance issues and storage usage patterns; maintain
adequate capacity of
all storage and backup solutions
* Should have led and/or actively participated in the projects
involving Storage
Migration, Data Center Consolidation, Storage Tiering, Storage
Virtualization etc.
* Should have strategic understanding of recommended practices and
designs in Storage
and Backup Industry.
* Should be able to comprehend and analyze business requirements in
large and
complicated customer environments and have an approach to use technical
skills to
create real-time Solutions.
* Organizational skills Understands impact of late delivery of own
tasks.
* Analytical ability Breaks problems down logically.
* Must have Consulting delivery experience in the Storage and Backup
domain.
* Work experience on multi-vendor storage products is essential. Must
be familiar with the Data Center environment and related operations.
* Participate in a 24x7 on-call duty rotation as assigned
Desired Skills:

* Work experience on multi-vendor storage is essential. Must be
Familiar with the Data Center environment and related operations.
* Experience in Storage Designing and implementation is an added
advantage.
* Must have (intermediate level) knowledge on any or multiple flavors
of the operating systems (Windows/Unix).
* Should possess strong understanding and exposure to Fibre Channel
Technologies SAN, NAS, iSCSI and backup methodologies, Core and Edge
switches from CISCO, Brocade.
* Analytical ability and problem-solving skills
* Excellent Communication skills and business skills, with ability to
work with global / distributed teams. Pleasant manner, approachable and can
remain calm under pressure.
* Work related to data centers and knowledge of ITIL is an advantage.
* Should have successfully completed 4 to 5 heterogeneous migrations.
Desired Certification:
IBM, NetApp certified.
Education Requirements
B.E /B.Tech in CSE/ECE/IT, or equivalent with eight (8) years of
professional-level relevant
experience.
