LOCATION : NY-New York/Long Island City* *DURATION: 1 Year** M.O.I: Telephonic + Face2Face* *Job Description:* Under the direction of management, major responsibilities include performing analysis, design, programming and testing activities for the development, maintenance and enhancements of the different components of the Enterprise Data Warehouse. This will entail: - Participation in requirement meetings with end-users to understand and collect Business Intelligence (BI) report and Web content needs. - Document these requirements, resolve ambiguities and conflicts, gather consensus. - Prepare conceptual, logical and physical design documents. - Collaborate with other groups to design and develop new enterprise reporting solutions. - Develop BI reports to serve the end-users. - Tune the supporting queries and report build processes to improve end-user access response times. - Design, document and deploy the front-end components of analytical applications. - Work with the Information Delivery team to provide training and support. - Assist in the rollout, maintenance and ongoing administration of these applications. Also, required will be the generation of reports, creating interim databases for reporting purposes; validate accuracy of generated report to reliable source data including variance to prior data; provide documentation of generated reports; provide expertise and assistance to other departments in extracting data and creating reports, and peer review reports created by other developers and provide feedback. These activities will encompass all project life cycle phases including production support and documentation of all tasks. The minimum core competencies required for this position are: *Cognos SDK Skills*: - Cognos SDK (Software Development Kit) code development using .Net and C# (* Required)* - Well versed with Cognos 8.4 SDK API (*Required)* - Knowledge of C# application development including file and i/o operations, multiple thread execution to gain performance (*Required)* - Schedule and deliver report to fileserver (Required) - Generate and manipulate excel output (add column, change style sheet, modify width and height of column etc.) (*Required)* - Write shell scripts automate the code execution (*Required)* - Send email to group for outcome of batch/scheduled process (*Required) * *Cognos BI Skills*: - Senior Level COGNOS Developer (7-9 years experience required) - Experience with Cognos 8.4 (Required) - Cognos Framework Manager (4 years Required) - Minimum of 6-8 years of Report Development experience using Cognos Tools (Required) - Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cognos and be able to translate user requirements into complex Framework Manager Models, reports, and dashboards.
