*Systems Engineer with Puppet experience* *Location: Seattle, WA*
*Duration: 6 months+possible extension* With the 3rd party tools project ramping up and scope increasing, we are in need of additional support in order to meet this project’s timeline while continuing to meet the requirements of our team’s other initiatives. This person would assist with communicating between Infrastructure and Development teams, and also perform Infrastructure-related build-out and development work. *This system uses Puppet for deployment automation, so familiarity with Puppet is required.* *Job Description/Duties:* - Perform Engineering duties for Tomcat application servers in Unix/Linux environments. - Develop/extend Puppet modules for automating environment deployments and managing environment configs. - Attend project-related sprint planning/stand-up meetings daily and as-needed. - Provide regular reports to infrastructure team about project status. - Assist internal and external Java application developers with testing and deployment of applications to DEV/TEST/PROD environments. - Implement application monitoring into corporate monitoring system. *Skills/Experience Required:* - Java/Tomcat application server experience required. - Bash/Perl/Python scripting experience required. - Intermediate-level (or higher) Puppet experience required. - Apache 2.2 webserver experience preferred. - Understanding of SSL concepts preferred. - F5 Load Balancer experience preferred. - Cloud experience (AWS) preferred. - Java programming experience preferred. - Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps helpful.
