The desired characteristics for the job are as follows:* 1. The scoring engine receives data via a REST API. The ideal candidate should be familiar with HTML and how REST APIs work. 2. The scoring engine then retrieves historical data from a MySQL database, and uses a number of steps to score the incoming data. This process has to be completed in an extremely short time. The ideal candidate will be an expert with python-MySQL interactions to make improvements in this area. Improvements can include replacing MySQL with other relational or non-relational data stores. 3. The scoring engine relies on several C++ libraries that are used by python for scoring the incoming data. The ideal candidate must be an expert with python-C++ interactions. Expertise with C++ is a plus. 4. In addition to data stores, C++, and the REST API, knowledge of numerical computing and SciPy and NumPy is highly desirable.
