*Skills Required and Job Description:*
*Interview Mode: Telephonic followed by SkypePrincipal Duties and
Responsibilities:*
- Analyze, debug and implement fixes and enhancements to existing
application (50 %)
- Update design, configuration documentation, processing flow charts,
diagrams, tables, and other supporting documentation per established
software design methodologies. Utilize this documentation to convey
proposed design alternatives, organize problem analysis efforts, and to
augment software design specifications.
- Perform coding, debugging, and unit testing tasks consistent with
the target design specification.
- Test and deploy maintenance versions, services pack, and patches to
be delivered to Customer
- Work closely with the Product owner(s) and development team(s) to
achieve the highest possible level of product quality. Submit
Test Plans to
development team(s) to verify successful fulfillment of functional
requirements as designed and documented.
- Provide technical support to production environments, and assist in
isolating software issues and design problems (20 %)
- Project Management (20 %)
- Meet with customers to fully understand their needs and to deliver
quality products
- Participate in support review meetings (internal or with customer)
- Provide status update to Customer
- Provide timely status updates of design and development activities
- Oversee tier 2 and tier 3 support
- Update Jira
- Research and development for process improvement (10 %)
- Research, analyze, and document appropriate technologies as they
can best be applied to support business objectives.
- Keep current on product development techniques, relevant technology
advances, and software best practices.
*Qualifications:*
- Bachelors degree in a computer science, engineering or related
technical field is preferred
- 2 years software engineering experience, with a minimum of 1 year web
development preferred
- Solid experience developing Java J2EE application systems and object
oriented programming
- Experience developing in *JSP, Servlets, Struts and JavaScript*
- Understanding of *HTML, CSS, XML, XSL, Python and related technologies*
- Good working knowledge of Linux and shell programming
- Good working knowledge of ant and/or maven Well versed in Systems
Development Lifecycle principles, concepts, and methodologies
- Proficient with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) - i.e.
Eclipse, JBuilder, etc. preferred
- Familiar with Web Application Servers such as Tomcat, BEA WebLogic,
WebSphere, etc.
- Workflow system design, development, and implementation is a plus
- Familiarity with SGML data, technical publications, and the aviation
industry is a big plus!
