* Title: Java Software Engineer (contract) Location: DT Seattle Only local candidates Duration: 6 months MOI : Phone + Skype Our client’s Consulting Services team work with a variety of customers to deliver world class IP-based video delivery solutions. Current projects including multiple initiatives for large media companies, as well as cable operators and telecommunication companies worldwide, including Comcast, British Telecom, Liberty Global, and ViaPlay. As a member of one of their Consulting Services engineering teams, you will build services that integrate with our core product and customer systems to provide media metadata and workflow solutions, e-commerce integrations, and highly available, consumer-facing feeds. You will work closely with customer-facing Solution Architects in our Seattle and London offices to ensure that solutions successfully meet functional and scalability requirements. You will also work closely with internal product engineering teams to leverage core services and technologies. Responsibilities: · Design and implement applications and services using our client’s mpx services and Java technologies. · Collaborate with Project Managers and Solution Architects to plan and estimate customer solutions. · Participate in a highly iterative agile development process as part of small cross-functional engineering team. · Test and diagnose issues in complex distributed systems. Requirements: · Solid Java programming experience. Experience with Java NIO (and Jetty or Tomcat support), multithreading (java.util.concurrent), Dependency Injection (Spring), ORM (JPA, Hibernate), XML processing (JAXB, StAX), and Apache Maven desired. · Solid experience with Java EE, server-side Java development, and understanding of SOA and enterprise integration patterns. Experience with RESTful services desired. · Strong software testing skills, including experience with TestNG, JUnit. · At least 3 years experience in the design and development of highly available internet applications and large scale distributed systems. · Demonstrable talent for elegant object-oriented design. · B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline. Additional Desired Skills: · JavaScript development. · Experience with other modern scripting languages. · Agile software development lifecycle. · Experience working in Professional Services organizations.
