*Chicago, IL (Local Only)* *Contract – 4/10/2015 (will most likely be extended)* *Job description:* · Oversees the development, design and execution of the formal test plans for all system-related projects and initiatives at BCBSA. Recommend opportunities for quality assurance improvement through the use of automation tools. This person should have a minimum of 6 years experience in the health payer industry. · Responsibilities: · Lead PV initiatives including managing PV teams of 2-4 people and contributing to the testing effort in a hands-on role · Work with the PV Manager to evaluate and enhance SDLC standards, technologies and approaches · Assist in creating the PV deliverables (e.g. templates for requirements traceability, test plans, cycles, cases, scripts and standardized reports, such as a root-cause defect report and a test execution progress report) · Provide subject matter expert knowledge on Quality Assurance software, tools, and best practices · Development and execution of a regression test · Development and execution of functional & system tests · Test planning for new feature development · Development and execution of test cases · Participate in training and mentoring other members of the PV staff · Work closely with cross-functional organizations, project teams, and clients to develop work estimates, project schedules, execute test plans and cases, provide status, and deliver high quality products · Act as a strong advocate for quality in the product development process for software engineering *Required Skills and Experience:* · Willing to work very hard to achieve the highest level of quality · Excellent leadership, Project Management and coaching skills · Consultative management and communications styles · Strong written and verbal communications skills · Experience managing PV/QA teams on initiatives of at least 3 people · Proven ability to manage disconnected teams at multiple locations · Capable of adapting to a rapidly evolving environment · Strong people management, interpersonal communication and collaboration skills · Proven track record of delivering high quality products · Expert at SDLC testing methodologies, tools and approaches (black box, white box and automated testing experience) · Have strong technical skills with the ability to lead the white box testing effort · Familiarity with some of the following: Java, C/C++, JavaScript, HTML, XML, Perl and SQL Strong knowledge of QA tools, such as HP ALM 11.x, HP UFT 11.x, SOAPUI, Rational ClearQuest, and automated test methodologies for Web, Web Services, and Mobile platforms · Experience testing database and database centric applications (Data Integrity, Data Quality) utilizing such technologies as DataStage or AbInitio for ETL; DB2, Vertica, or Hadoop for Data Warehouse, Control-M, and other related technologies · Some experience in managing a small End User Help Desk / Service Desk is a plus · BS in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience · 6 years of Software Development or Software Quality Assurance experience *Attributes:* · Takes ownership of tasks and drives tasks through to completion · Is accountable for their actions · A strong communicator · Demonstrates caring for others and honesty · Positive and constructive · Able to focus while under pressure Deliverable: Test Plans, Test Results, and other standard project deliverables. -- -- To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected] For more options, visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/CBE-Software-Engineer?hl=en --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CBE Software Engineer" group.
