Job Title : Thermal performance test and design engineer -(electronics/power supplies/cameras) Location : Redmond, WA. Duration : Contract/Fulltime. Job Description: . We are looking to hire a candidate who will be responsible for setup and execution of system test plans, focusing on the area of thermal performance/characterization and occasionally assisting power verification testing. . The testing includes thermal characterization via common user scenarios, thermal tuning, thermal safety verification, electrical power supply testing, power distribution and power consumption of Surface tablets to ensure products meet and exceed defined targets necessary for excellent customer experience. . A special emphasis is placed on someone who organizes data clearly and with attention to detail. Minimum Requirements: . Diploma in Computer Science Tech, Electrical Engineering Tech or Electronics Engineering Technology . . Minimum 3 years' experience in electronics lab setting including setup and operation of test equipment . . Familiarity with Thermal test equipment including thermocouple data acquisition systems, Thermal IR cameras, thermal chambers, etc. . . Experience with National Instruments software and LabVIEW for data acquisition for temperature/power measurements . . Strong organizational skills , both in physical space (keeping the lab clean 100% of the time) and in virtual space (data formatting/storage) . . Knowledge of Windows operating systems, including Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, . . Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel for recording data and generating reports . . Methodical, detail oriented tester that implements testing conventions to ensure quality data is collected Additional Preferred Qualifications: . Theoretical and practical knowledge of consumer electronics heat dissipation methods (mechanical, electrical, SW) and thermal mitigation techniques . . Experience with automation of test hardware using various languages (Powershell, LabVIEW, etc.) . . Experience with C/C#, VBA, VBScript . .
