• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Science, Information systems,
business systems, management information systems, IT Management, other IT
related fields
• 10 or more years of relevant experience
• 4+ yrs. of recent experience with Oracle Linux and HP/UX
• *At least 1 relevant certification*
*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:*
- Install, configure and maintain HP-UX servers
- Install, configure and maintain Oracle Linux servers
- Troubleshooting Hardware and Operating systems related issues
- Troubleshoot with and assist DBA’s, developers and application teams
as needed
- Write scripts to accomplish routine system administration tasks
- *Configuring Security *baseline and address vulnerabilities
- *Patch management *and Package administration
- *Performance tuning* and ability to gather performance metrics
- Basic knowledge of SAN administration in order to add LUNs to an HP
UX/Linux server
- *Coordinate* activities for HP-UX and Oracle Linux instances to
operate, release and maintain both physical and virtual environments
- *Document,* automate and support Linux administration tasks for
standard operating procedures from identify common problems, resolutions
and recovery processes.
- Perform system configuration and hardening Linus/HPUX in order to
provide optimum performance (plan and implement system changes, adjust
parameters and set-up)
- Participate in related projects from integration of technical
application software up to Production delivery
- Serve as liaison with other teams for the rest of his/her area of
expertise
- Provide on-call duty and after hours support on weekly rotation
*Position Requirements:*
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Science, Information systems,
business systems, management information systems, IT Management, other IT
related fields
- 10 or more years of relevant experience
- 4+ yrs. of recent experience with Oracle Linux and HP/UX
- At least 1 relevant certification
- Has performed Systems Administrative tasks including:
- Patching, user account administration, LDAP administration, conduct
backups/restores
- Performance monitoring, analyze and recommend upgrades HW/SW
platforms
- Incident handling, and vulnerability resolutions
- System builds and virtualization, file system management, software
installation, etc.
- Good organization skills to balance, prioritize work, and multitask
- Good analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot systems
problems
- Good communication skills to communicate with support personnel,
customers, and managers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
