*QA & TEST LEAD HR SYSTEMS*

*BACKGROUND & INTRODUCTION*

Medtronic Plc. recently acquired Covidien a 13 billion company with 40.000
employees worldwide.
The Global HR Organization is in the process of integrating Covidien into
Medtronic global processes and core HR application platforms.
One of the openings Medtronic currently has is for a strong QA and Testing
Services Lead to coordinate and work through testing the various systems
and integrations that are part of the transition to the global HR
application platforms.  This person will also be responsible for the
overall Test Plan for all HR systems in scope and include System
Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Parallel Testing,
Integration Testing and performance testing.  Testing will involve many
downstream systems and a variety of 3rd party vendors.

*POSITION FOCUS             *

The QA & Testing Services Test Lead is responsible for the execution and
delivery of Testing Service(s) as defined by Quality Assurance.
Specifically this candidate will work to lead and support testing for the
HR application platforms in scope during the implementation. Through
effective management of time and resources the QA & Test Lead is
responsible for all activities related to system, integration, platform,
smoke and performance testing within budget, while meeting all quality
deliverables. This role is responsible for planning and delivery of, but
not limited to, Test Approach, Test strategy/Plan, Test cases and the
Defect triage process for the HR applications in scope.

*REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  *

5 years of experience managing a team of test specialists

Minimum 2 years of experience with Workday application testing

Minimum 2 years of experience with the HP ALM/QC tool

Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies

Demonstrate strong understanding of the SDLC/STLC process

In depth knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.

Adaptability to shift between projects and workload and be productive
quickly

Ability to quickly learn the application business area processes and its
requirements

Strong planning and leadership skills

Excellent communicator will always be working in a team environment with
developers, BAs, PMs, and clients

*SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: *

Must have SOLID QA background and MUST be experienced in testing
successful, LARGE HR System implementations that involve integrating with
existing complex legacy systems and pay-role systems.

HR systems functional experience - Experience working with multiple HR
modules

HR Systems Testing Experience - Experience in analyzing large complex
solutions to identify high risks functional and in non-functional areas
that might impact critical business processes due to change.

Testing protocols within and across multiple SaaS platforms, specifically
prior Workday and Callidus implementation experience is a must have.

Team Management - Experience in people management, including multiple
outside implementation partner testing resource management

*HR SYSTEMS IN SCOPE:*

Workday, Taleo, ServiceNow, Callidus, Peoplefluent Compensation, ePrism
Compensation, ComplianceWire, Cornerstone, ,Kronos, Flieldglass.

*POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES*

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversees and manages all critical quality and test initiatives across
multiple complex HR systems (Workday, Payrole Integrations, Callidus, Saba,
Kronos, Fieldglass, ,…) See above

Drives ownership & accountability of quality assurance engineering within
the HR systems application life cycle management

Working with the HR Application platform leads & project team(s) at all
stages to promote quality

Work closely with HR Program Manager & Project Management team /Technical
Lead team to provide test estimates, test schedule, and manage test team
resource needs

Accountable for keeping all the stakeholders informed and keeping testing
on track

Communicate the test plan across project teams and coordinate all resources
to ensure successful execution

Adapt the test plan and compensate as needed, adjusting to evolving
conditions

Ensure testing milestones, activities and tasks are communicated properly
and completed as scheduled

Monitor KPI’s, measure, control and report on test progress, product
quality and test results

Ensure test data and environments are both available and appropriately
prepared for testing

Review requirements for testability and provide sign-off

Partner and consult with functional users and key stakeholders to define
and help validate test conditions and create test scripts

Assign work and direct test specialists in creation of test scenarios, test
cases, and requirement traceability

Review and provide feedback on the test artifacts developed by the test
specialists

Ability to step in and help when needed in test script creation, execution,
and/or validation

Responsible to drive all testing including parallel testing, system
testing, and UAT through the approved project testing tool

Review defects and determine whether or not Vendors are required to help
resolve the issue; they will subsequently inform the Project Manager who
will assign the issue to the appropriate resource for resolution

Review defects, provide status in the daily testing meetings, and assign as
appropriate

Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis

Identify, communicate, and track risks and issues associated with testing

Evaluate test cases for induction into automated regression testing

If desired lead efforts to establish test automation and planning for
subsequent release iterations

Lead and manage all necessary regression testing of current system
(inclusion of back bridging integrations, coordinate of 3rd party vendors
(Pay-roll systems), etc.)

*REQUIREMENTS*

This program will require an onsite commitment in Minneapolis, MN at
Medtronic headquarters 5 days per week. Expected hours are 40 hours/week

*PROGRAM TIMELINE*

The project and test planning for this migration to Workday and other
integrated systems has recently started and we are ramping up the team.
Based on performance and program success, there is a strong likelihood that
the engagement could be extended beyond February of 2016.
