*Job Title:* Network Engineer *Location:* Columbia, SC *Duration:* 6+ month *Interview:* Phone/Skype *Responsibilities:* *Daily Duties/Responsibilities:* · Incumbent will serve as a Network Engineer for DTO/Network Services/Network Integration. · Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of network devices in the Local Area, Wide Area and Metropolitan Area Networks. · Will test new and modify network configurations hardware and software. · Will provide network consulting services to other state agencies. · Analyze data to provide solutions to complex problems and assist in resolving issues. · Will fulfill work orders from the Service Desk. · Maintains services, applications, and operating systems for network devices and ensures network devices are maintained to a high level of security. · Candidate must possess experience with Cisco. · Juniper experience is a plus. · Candidate must have proficient oral and written communication skills. · Must be able to work on projects individually or part of a team. *Qualifications:* · Must possess a valid Class-D Driver's license. · Will be required to pass a SLED (SC State Law Enforcement Division) Criminal Background Check prior to employment. · Candidate must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. · Candidate will be required to be on-call 24 hours a day on a rotating schedule for the length of the contract. · Candidate must be able to be on-site, if needed, within 30 minutes of being contacted. · Candidate must be able to climb or crawl into confined spaces and be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. · Some in-state travel may be required. *Required Education:* High School Diploma and 6 years of direct experience in the required skills listed above or an Associate's Degree and 4 years of direct experience in the skills above or a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of direct experience in the required skills above. *Skills:* · CISCO Routers · CISCO SWITCHES · Local Area Network (LAN) · Network Administration · Understanding of computer and network operating system fundamentals (e.g. operating systems, applications, storage, networking) · JUNIPER FIREWALLS *Additional Skills:* · Proficiency with Cisco routers and switches · Juniper proficiency -- Rahul Rishu Sr. Recruiter Net2Source Inc.
