*Position:- Linux Admin* *Location: Santa Clara, CA* *Duration: 6 months * *MOI:- Telephonic + Skype* *QUALIFIED CANDIDATES will have 50-70% of the following:* *PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:* - Provide first and second level support as it relates to Engineering services infrastructure. - Provide 24x7x365 on-call support coverage. - Monitor and analyze problems, ensuring problems are identified and solved as rapidly as possible. - Log all problems in ServiceNow trouble ticketing system and initiate Change Requests when changes must be made to Production systems. - Ensure the prioritization and scheduling of all projects and tasks. - Perform preventative maintenance of hardware/software environments as well as upgrades and patching of these platforms. - Manage the configuration, deployment, maintenance and security processes for all mission critical components. - Develop and maintain documentation for all installed platforms. - Must have experience setting up, administering and maintaining Linux environments; specifically Redhat, Fedora, Ubuntu, BSD and Windows. - Administer, configure and support mission critical Linux environments and various storage platforms. - Install, configure and test necessary hardware and VM instances. - Install, configure and maintain Bind, SSH and NFS. - Directly involved with key business initiatives and driving projects to high quality, on-time completion. - Develops and maintains Perl and Shell scripts to enhance deployment and monitoring framework. *PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:* - Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with customers, team members and management. - Perform daily operations to maintain SLAs and business functions. - Must be a self-starter; able to work in a fast paced environment. - Strong team player working on both shared and individual assignments. - Technically minded with a focus on the customer. - Motivated by the challenges and rewards of a fast moving company. - Able to perform well under pressure.
