* Skills Required and Job Description:*
The Senior QA Automation Engineer is responsible for design and development
of UFT/QTP automation Framework including test strategy, using GUI, user
defined and database verification points. The automation scripts will cover
feature, system, regression and production smoke testing. The Automation
consultant works on the most complex systems and problems as well as
coordinates with the Offshore Automation engineer / QC analysts.
*PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:*
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular
employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The
actual duties required of this position will vary.
- Works with project lead and project team to plan, estimate, schedule
and develop an automation framework for new and existing applications
running on platforms such as AS400, Lawson, Ariba, Web and Sales force
technologies.
- Creation of automation framework
- Creation of automated test scripts using UFT (QTP), VBScript and
Selenium
- Establishing, organizing and monitoring testing deliverables
- Documenting and executing complex software test plans and
strategies using Automated test scripts
- Ensures traceability of test cases back to project requirements
- Executing end to end test scenarios
- Coordinating and supporting user-acceptance test plans and
Production smoke test scripts
- Working with project management and development staff to report and
resolve complex issues
- Works directly with appropriate IT personnel to understand project
concept, objectives and approach of software development projects.
- Ensures software applications are error-free and meet functional
requirements.
- Records and reports on testing metrics
- Responsible for the overall success of Automation testing.
- Follows documentation standards and ensures support documentation is
created and updated as necessary for all standard software.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
*EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:*
*Required:*
- Extensive experience designing automation frameworks
- Extensive experience designing and programming Automated testing using
QTP, VBScript and Selenium
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology,
management information systems, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years’ experience performing QA activities. 5 +years in Automation
- Strong SQL database experience required
