A typical operations analyst is responsible for collecting and analyzing data and developing decision support software. Job Responsibilities: - Formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives and their numerical parameters. - Analyze information obtained from management to conceptualize and define operational problems. - Perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary. - Define data requirements and gather and validate information, applying judgment and statistical tests. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, statistics, mathematics or related field required. - MBA or other related advanced degree preferred - 2-4 years’ experience required. - Experience in operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, or data modeling. - Basic knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation. - Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills. - Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time Additional Skills and Experience - The main job functions of the Operations Center Analyst is to monitor, evaluate, troubleshoot, and escalate infrastructure and applications alerts, issues, and requests utilizing various tools and applications. - The Operations Center Analyst also provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 services to infrastructure support teams and the End User Services teams after normal business hours and on weekends. - A minimum of 2-to-3 years Operations Center experience is required. - Remedy on Demand experience is a plus. - Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, BMC Proactive Net, and App Dynamics or Similar Monitoring tools is required. - Good verbal and written skills are key. - Scripting skills are a big plus (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Perl). Linux and Windows admin experience a plus. - Good troubleshooting skills. - Network certifications a plus. - Required to work any shift including day, night and weekends.
