*what we are looking for:*
Our client is looking for a PRINCIPAL TECH OPERATIONS . This indivildual
should have strong experience in Java and Hadoop. should have minimum 3
years of experience in Hadoop. Should have experience in scripting concepts
and good understanding of data warehouse, should have experience in any of
the monitoring tools such as Nagios, Ganglia, CDH CM. Nice to have ETL
experience

PRINCIPAL TECH OPERATIONS (Enterprise Data and Analytics)
The EDA systems administration team is primarily responsible for the smooth
operation of ETL, BI and Big data systems and applications. We are looking
to hire a Principal Tech Operations to provide application and system
support. The main role of this Principal Technical Operations will be to
investigate and diagnose issues with ETL and Big Data systems, data, and
processes as part of systems administration team. This individual will
assist project teams with tasks associated with the Development, Deployment
and Ongoing Support Maintenance phases of our standard Project Management
Methodology in accordance with the documentation that is provided defining
project scope and deliverables.

*QUALIFICATIONS: *
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent

*EXPERIENCE:*8+ years of experience

*REQUIRED SKILLS: *
Strong Java programming skills required. Other scripting skills, such as
Python or Perl a plus
Strong knowledge on large-scale/distributed SQL, Hadoop, NoSQL, HBase,
Columnar databases
Strong knowledge on Hadoop-related technologies, Hive, Impala, MapReduce,
Spark, etc.
Strong knowledge on batch and streaming data sources with structured and
unstructured data
Experience with enterprise level production environments
Experience building, upgrading and troubleshooting Hadoop systems.
Working knowledge of problem management and escalation processes
Hardware and Software Monitoring including Network performance
Experience developing of Capacity Plans
Experience with design, management, implementation of Backup, Disaster
Recovery and/or High Availability solutions
Knowledge of Shell, Perl, Python or other scripting languages

*PREFFERED SKILLS: *
Experience with scripting for cluster environments (Puppet)
Hadoop Monitoring tools (Nagios, Ganglia, CDH CM).
Securing Hadoop clusters. Kerberos and Encryption.
Web/App Server & SOA administration (Tomcat, JBoss, etc.)
Working knowledge of security, system monitoring, tuning, physical database
maintenance, back-up recovery procedures, upgrades, logical and physical
design of database.
Working knowledge of database security, system monitoring, tuning, physical
database maintenance, back-up and recovery procedures and upgrades
