Splunk Experience a Plus – We are currently implementing Splunk • Build Linux systems and implement them in a production environment 1. Must know all aspects of the build process 1. i. Networking technology 2. ii. RPM management 3. iii. Storage technology – internal disks/SAN and NAS 4. iv. Virtual and Physical machines 5. v. Vmware Experience 1. Virtual Center 6. vi. YUM server configuration • Application Support 1. Create and manage user accounts 1. i. Account creation 2. ii. Environments 3. iii. Home directories 4. iv. Shells 5. i. Ability to research products and service offerings in the OpenSource/Linux community 6. ii. Understands how to install, configure, build and implement Linux based products 1. Perl/Python/Shell/Java/C/C++ 2. Software Support • Production Support 1. Capacity Planning 2. Performance monitoring and tuning 3. Troubleshooting system/network related issues *Related Job abilities and attributes:* • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. • Ability to understand priorities and manage their time accordingly. • At least 5 years of experience working with UNIX platforms. • Client focused. • Four year college degree or equivalent. • Proactive candidate with a sense of urgency. • Strong written and verbal communications skills. • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities. • Team Player – Builds relationships and utilizes those relationships to drive successful outcomes for the organization. • Understands how to quickly solve problems and/or to assemble the right people to do so.
