SolrLinux System Administration* *Job Description: * Our client is undergoing a major technology shift and needs people with cutting edge skills who can help design, build, and operate data persistence systems for the future. They have a heavy focus on open source technologies and run at web scale. They would like a smart, skilled, forward-thinking people to join a new Data Services team which will focus on providing a stable and performant data platform for our applications to run on top of. *Key Responsibilities / Performance Requirements:* · Manage RDBMS (MySQL, SLQ Server) and NoSQL (Cassandra) databases in a multi-master, active/active environment. · Automate routine database maintenance operations and tasks. · Identify and configure database monitoring techniques for trending, analysis and alerting · Create and implement strategies for updating & patching databases · Recommend and/or implement backup & restore strategies and best practices · Implement database security & encryption best practices as required by the business and standards like PCI, HIPAA etc. · Provide guidance and assistance to developers for database migrations and other database changes · Provide data modelling and performance optimization expertise to developers · Evaluate new persistence technologies as needed *Required Skills:* · Substantial expertise with RDBMS - MySQL · Expertise with at least one NoSQL database - Cassandra · Experience with an enterprise search - Solr · Linux system administration skills · Cloud computing experience , AWS or OpenStack · Strong DevOps mindset - solve operational problems by writing code and tests · Experience with Continuous Delivery and Agile practices - must be comfortable working with developers · Tenacious and aggressive troubleshooting skills - if a problem comes across your desk, it gets fixed! · Strong English language verbal and written communications skills · Cassandra ! · Solr · Linux System Administration Regards, Anu (Anubhav Krishna) Sr. Accounts Manager 248 565 4747 Ext 193 [email protected] *TekShapers Inc.* *WBE Certified* *Michigan | California | India* *Visa Sponsorship | Software and Strategy Development | Staff Augmentation* Save trees.
