*Location Bowie MD* *Duration Long Term* *Windows Systems Administration* *Position Overview (Job Summary)* The Infrastructure team designs, builds, and maintains the software, hardware, network, and computing technologies that power all of the client’s services. You seek a challenge, demand excellence of yourself, and exercise a relentless drive to uncover and resolve the root cause of complex problems. *Job Description* · Find, correlate, prevent, and own complex problems from incident to resolution, implementing emergency fixes to keep the business moving while driving root cause analysis to ensure problems do not resurface; · Develop and execute solutions to problems backed by thorough testing and engineering analysis; · Develop, gather, and leverage metrics to prevent and uncover problems in the server fleet before they emerge; · Leverage tools and technologies to optimize systems by squeezing out every clock cycle, IOP, and bit. · Investigate, design, and implement best-in-industry, innovative technologies that will expand the Client’s infrastructure through robust, scalable solutions *Job Requirements* · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, technical field, or equivalent experience; · 7+ years of experience troubleshooting Windows Server, related computing platforms. · Strong experience with Active Directory administration, structure, permissions, and best practices · Hands-on experience using SCCM is a big plus · Experience with patch management using tools like WSUS, Systems Center, and/or NetProtect; · Knowledge of existing industry standards, technologies, and operational norms; · Possess a strong sense of ownership and urgency; the capacity to ensure a problem is not dropped, forgotten, or ignored; · Scripting experience is a plus; willing to learn Powershell. · Experience with Windows Security best practices is very beneficial · Good troubleshooter – you know every problem has a solution; you are unrelenting, persistent, and confident that you will find that solution; · Manage situations with calm, courtesy, and confidence; · Ability to support shift work.
