Must have extensive knowledge in the following focus areas: - Solid understanding of IP, LAN\WAN technologies and protocols, switching and routing, wireless, cabling, security, firewall and VPN configurations. - Design and engineer complex and secure enterprise network infrastructures. Experience with Cisco hardware and IOS configuration preferred. - Solid understanding of firewall and VPN configuration. Knowledge of Cisco firewall products preferred. *Description:* *PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* - Provide project management and engineering support for projects from inception through the planning, design, implementation, and operational phase. Collaborate across multiple disciplines. Document scope, requirements, and identify tasks. Ensure implemented solution meets project deliverables and adheres to standards and best practices. - Provide technical input for network designs and troubleshooting. Recommends and implements network standards to support the enterprise network infrastructure. - Performs proactive management and monitoring of the network infrastructure and network systems. - Schedules, plans, and performs periodic scheduled maintenance to ensure systems are operating at optimal levels and running on the latest stable code. - Conducts routine capacity planning and identifies recommendations on network infrastructure and network systems. Ability to troubleshoot complex networks.Analyze configurations and perform packet analysis. Perform root cause and implement resolution. Evaluates and recommends new network technologies or upgrades to existing technologies. - Proactive participation in recommending, developing and documenting standards and processes. - Adhere to department policies and guidelines. Adhere and follow change control process and procedures. Ability to adapt to existing and new technologies. - Ability to produce and maintain infrastructure documentation.
