*Position: Sr. Linux Administrator *
*Location: San Jose, CA*
*Duration: 3-6 Month Contract*

*Need Locals to CA Only*
*In person interview required*

The Sr. Linux Administrator will be responsible for providing hands-on
support to maintain servers and storage infrastructure for a semiconductor
engineering company in San Jose, CA. As part of your role you will provide
daily support across a wide range of technical issues, be responsible for
the operation and maintenance of production systems hardware and software.
The successful candidate must be a self-starter who can effectively
communicate; document projects and issues, develop action plans and deliver
projects on time. Experience with numerous UNIX platforms including Linux
Red Hat, Solaris as a minimum.

   - *5+ years of experience in the Linux based distributed clusters and
   linux system administrators*
   - Setup and managing various *network storage equipment (NetApp, Oracle
   ZFS and EMC)*
   - Strong knowledge of *BIND, LDAP, openLDAP & SAMBA*
   - Knowledge on *software development/collaborative tools such as Git,
   Perforce, Jenkins, Bamboo, Confluence and JIRA*
   - Experience in maintaining virtual environment such as *VSphere, ESXi,
   Vcenter and Docker*
   - Responsible for uptime, performance, reliability, scalability,
   security and high availability of *UNIX/Linux systems*
   - Experience with system monitoring tools such as *Nagios, Cacti and
   Solarwinds*
   - Demonstrable experience and knowledge of *web servers such ad Apache,
   application servers and databases*
   - Knowledge of mid/large scale datacenter environment
   - Experience with *scripts such as shell scripts, Perl or Python*
   - Technical Understanding of *network protocols and services including:
   TCP/IP, FTP, DNS, DHCP, Wins, SMTP, NFS, NIS*

*Additional Skills*

   - Ability to automate routine tasks using tools such as Puppet and Chef
   - Experience in scheduler solutions such as LSF (Load Sharing Facility)
   and RTDA (Runtime Design Automation) would be desirable
   - Excellent verbal and written skills
   - Experience working with Global teams a plus
   - Knowledge of backup solutions such as Symantec NetBackup and other
   solutions is highly desirable
   - Must be able to effectively prioritize and be a good time manager in a
   highly dynamic work environment
   - Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills required
