*QA Test Analyst with Hadoop* *Charlotte, NC* *6 Months +* *Experience with Hadoop testing is Mandatory* *Max rate is $42-44/hr on c2c(all inc.)* *Job Description:* *Competencies* • Client facing experience for onsite folks • Test management & defect management expertise • CI experience with Gerkin, Jenkins, Cucumber would be a good-to-have Individuals working in the (Sr) Test Analyst / Test Designer / Tester role must be very hands-on to perform a full cycle of testing functions including test estimation, test case creation, test plan creation, test execution & defect management. This role would also be competent to create test assets to ensure that QA team provides the value in creating a great work product. This role requires an individual who will demonstrate urgency, leverage experience in unique ways in evaluating a work product for improvements & test such applications. As such, the role would demonstrate ownership over quality and strive to deliver, collaborate with stakeholders & partners to enhance the QA experience. *General Responsibilities:* Responsible for functional testing cycles including maintenance & upkeep of regression suite(s) and automated test suite(s). Also responsible for day to day test execution, defect management, resolution (& re-tests) & status reporting, leveraging HP ALM & Version One to create overall value for the project / product being released. This role, apart from the individual responsibilities below, will work in collaboration with other test analysts, project manager(s) / scrum master(s), release manager(s), product manager(s), development team member(s), infrastructure team member(s) as well as business analyst(s) and sponsor(s) & be responsible for superior quality of test cases through highest coverage, proficient execution, detailed status report & meticulous follow ups to drive appropriate defect resolution. 1. Evaluate testing effort 2. Plan test cycles 3. Identify target test items 4. Define appropriate tests required 5. Manage traceability 6. Define appropriate test data required 7. Gather & manage test data according to the need & aligning to Ally’s test data management policies 8. Execute test cases & perform required test cycles 9. Evaluate the test results & ensure all issues are accurately logged, tracked and resolved 10. Manage defects appropriately 11. Participate in defect triage discussions 12. Evaluate outcomes of test cycles 13. Build and maintain regression test suites for both manual and automated testing for all the applications supported 14. Participate in UAT support by reviewing business test cases, assisting with UAT test data preparation, defect triage & re-tests in UAT cycles 15. Execute smoke tests post release(s) / code drops 16.
